What once served the community as a mental health facility and a retirement community sprawled across 40 acres, embarked on a journey of transformation under the guidance of Garrett Demolition. This extensive project wasn't just about demolition; it was about laying the groundwork for future development, breathing new life into an area ready for change.
Reimagining Spaces with Purpose
The challenge was clear: to meticulously demolish 33 buildings, including five towering multi-story structures, while managing approximately 220,000 square feet of flat work and private roads. Our mission was to ensure the safe and efficient removal of these structures, paving the way for the next phase of Dallas's urban evolution. Before any demolition commenced, a thorough asbestos remediation process was conducted, underscoring our commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
Strategic Execution and Environmental Stewardship
Our approach was methodical, rooted in extensive planning and scheduling, resulting in the completion of the project within a remarkable six-month timeframe. The demolition process included the segregation of structural debris, which was then conscientiously transported to recycling facilities and landfills, reflecting our dedication to sustainability. Beyond demolition, the project encompassed storm drain removal, well plugging, and the implementation of SWPPP large construction site notice, among other critical tasks. Through the import and compaction of backfill, final grading, and turf establishment, we not only dismantled structures but also prepared the site for its next chapter.
