responsibilities

  • Manages all DOT End Dump Driver hiring, with posting advertisements, receiving and reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and performing onboarding process.
  • Facilitates vehicle inspection and driving training sessions for current and onboarding drivers, in accordance with procedures and requirements put forth by Federal, State, and Company regulations.
  • Managing all documentation and record-keeping, vehicle accident investigation, and ensuring Garrett Demolition’s DOT fleet is in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Reviews and reports on audit reports, writes and updates safety regulation procedures, and track hazard corrective actions to completion
  • Manages and maintains employee’s driver qualification files in compliance with DOT guidelines.
  • Ensure that employees driver’s license/CDL, medical cards, drug history and screening documentation, MVR’s, incident reports, vehicle maintenance, pre/post trip inspections, daily activity logs, DVIRs, and IVDRs, are documented and filed correctly by DOT standards.
  • Ensure that Garrett Demolition operates in full accordance and stays current with any revision made, with the FMCSR.
  • Managing and conducting vehicle incident investigations and reports, performing root cause analysis of incidents, and reporting results and documentation to the appropriate sources and managerial staff.
  • Tracking, reviewing, and completing DOT inspections and registration renewals.
  • Maintains roadside DOT Truck Books and conducting audit of reports; Maintains Local, State, and Federal required documentation for DOT inspections, registrations and driver records per DOT regulated requirements.
  • Maintains a DOT incident/accident register to comply with Federal, State, and Company procedures.
  • Track and record all incidents, to ensure reducing incidents rates and communicate safety awareness.
  • Monitor Driver safety via GPS systems and cameras on vehicles.
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies, as well as complies with all Company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Clearly demonstrates and aligns with Garrett Demolition’s mission and core business values.
  • Collaborates with key internal and external resources.
  • Participate in ongoing self-development and continuing education.

requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean Driving Record
  • High School or GED
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must withhold knowledge of best hiring practices, employment laws, and current regulations.
  • Must have the ability to maintain the increasing confidential nature of hiring.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience managing DOT fleet compliance in a transportation or construction environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of 49 CFR, State and Federal Motor Carrier safety Regulations
  • DOT Compliance Management is required.
  • Withhold knowledge of FMCSA regulations, governing safe drivers, hours of service, Driver Logs, Clearance House, Tenstreet or Employment Verification, Inspections, Record Retention, etc.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic office machinery skills, such as faxing, printing, copying, scanning, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer skills, such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and Internet Software.
  • Ability to multitask in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Proven self-starter with a track record of managing multiple complex tasks with the ability to work across multiple functional areas internally and externally.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and an ability to identify problems, design, and articulate solutions, as well as implement change.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills, for prioritizing tasks.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable and dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening test.
